Gypsy Soul PhotoGypsy Soul

Alternating between haunting melodies and atmospheric grooves, Gypsy Soul creates a lush musical landscape of acoustic rock with Celtic and Americana roots. Cilette Swann's exquisitely ethereal-yet-powerful vocals are partnered with Roman Morykit's inspired bass and guitar counterpoint. Compared by critics to artists as diverse as Sarah McLachlan, Lorenna McKinnett, Eva Cassidy, Alison Krauss, K.D. Lang, Kate Bush and Fleetwood Mac, the adventurous duo has produced eight critically acclaimed albums.

"Skillful, crystalline guitar, superb songwriting and soulful, harmonious vocals characterize this acoustic masterpiece. Greg Newlon & Bev Barnett have touched all the bases here. Bev has a voice that soars to great heights with outstanding range and command, while Greg has a sturdy, powerful voice that connects with everyone who listens. "This man has the gift." So said Utah Phillips, legendary figure in American folk music, after hearing Richard Berman sing at the Kerrville Folk Festival's Ballad Tree in 1992. And Richard has used that gift to write many songs that tell moving, true stories.

All concerts are held at Left Coast Cyclery.

We've created a setting that's reminiscent of a time when performers played their music in settings that were intimate and personal. The closeness of our new "club" combined with the talent and musicality of the performers makes for an unforgettable and enjoyable evening.

Please come by and support these artists!

Thanks to all who made our first concert series a great success. This year we are pleased and honored to be the home venue of Celebrating Songwriters--a monthly concert series showcasing songwriters from around the world and hosted by award winning singer/songwriter Caren Armstrong.

Because we love and appreciate great music at Left Coast Cyclery we would like to announce the Left Coast Concert Series.

As cyclists, we know what it's like to work hard at something. We train hard, and sometimes we travel for miles just to compete. If you're lucky, you might win a t-shirt or a couple of bucks. Most of the time, we just do it for the love of cycling. Well, musicians kind of do the same thing. The really good ones work hard at keeping their songwriting skills polished. They're disciplined and committed.  Most do it because it's their calling, it's what they love. Few are fortunate enough to make a living at it.

Seeing a gifted cyclist is inspiring. When we envision Lance's grace on the pedals, it helps to get us up and over those hills. When a musician pours their heart and soul into a song, it fills us with perspective and insight. It inspires us. It makes life better.

Thus, the Left Coast Concert Series—providing an intimate venue for independent artists to showcase their work, inspire audiences and put some gas money in the tour bus.

Please continue to check our Web site for more information on scheduled performances.

We hope you'll join us.

Call us at: 510-204-8552 if you want to be on the Concert Series mailing list. We'll keep you posted on upcoming performances.
